I was cleaning out my HD and deleting some old songs. These were some that I liked and decided to archive via bandcamp. It says buy, but the price is $0, so yeah. Enjoy it, if possible. If not, I’m sorry I suck.
So as it turns out. The rats live again. I’ve met with my friend Anne, and discussed future music endeavors. I explained that I will be writing some music, and recording some music, and borrowing people to perform/be in my band. Anne is a good friend of mine, and so it’s no question in my mind that I’d like to adopt her into the my projects.
I asked her about naming our project, and we’ve decided to just remain as “The Rat Scavengers”. It’ll be a pretty open band, likely, with few permanent positions. Not necessarily, though. Just, like, if people want to play music with us, we’ll let them, and if people want to be in a permanent position, they totes’ can. We’re pretty open people.
Our first Ep release won’t be for quite some time. We’ll probably shit out some rough song, so that people can FINALLY have something to listen to. We also hope to release the EP, and all other future releases, WITH A ZINE! How fucking COOL is that? It’s like a free fucking magazine thing about bullshit with your bullshit music! RAD!
This of course will slow the release process, since obviously, we can’t release the Zine without the Ep. This means that we have to record the Ep, THEN make the zine, THEN find a way to print copies of the zine/EP. Tough work. Will it be worth it? To me, yes. To you, maybe. Depending on, like, your easy-ness-ocity to be pleased. We’ll try.
I’m not going to lie to you, the first Ep will be about depressing bullshit that nobody wants to hear. I’m sorry. But once that’s out of the system, then, like, let the party anthems roll out! It’ll be a bit until we start releasing stuff, but once we start, I promise that they will come consecutively, consistently, and some other “c” word that means fast.
Thanks for reading/having patience/maybe wanting to hear our shit!!!!!!
WE BE COMIN’! GETCHA’ DANCIN’ SHOES ONNN!!
Not that we have any followers, but I think it’s nice (for me at least) to document what’s going on.
Jenni (scorpion) and I have sorta stopped meeting up for music stuff. Not outta’ friendship-ending-cataclysmic-genocide, it’s just that we sort of are both busy in our own little ways. Jenni studies creative writing, I music biz, and so we are both rather busy in our own respects. With this crapola in mind, it’s rather tough for the two of us to get together. The Rat Scavengers may or may not die with that, time will tell (we are a rather unpredictable lot).
Me, myself, and I, Jojii (or Joel) that is, will be continuing my musical shenanigans. Lately I’ve bumped into quite a few musician fellows, and friends, and both (here’s lookin’ at you kid [anne]), who are all interested music projects. I would LOVE to pursue projects with EVERYONE, however, my heart has some things it needs to create before I feel like letting other people into the process.
Yes, that’s correct. I will be making music. I’ll likely record a concept Ep of sorts (yes, I know, another boy writing about girls and sadness and stuff, HOW original), which I may have friends help me record. I’ve got a ton of music material, and a tad of poetry and lyrics. The trick is how I’m going to get vocals.
I’ve never really sang in front of people, and so have that obvious insecurity, and I AM one of those “I am my own hardest critic” people. So, like, if you see me writing songs for a band any time soon, and I’m not singing, you’ve known that I’ve failed. I refuse to send out music that I don’t have a massive connection with. I don’t like listening to garbage music just because it’s mine. Protip: if you ever hear anything I’ve made, be gentle on the criticism, me heart be a fragile one.
Thank-ye for yr time and patience. Leave your sympathies with Wilson. He’ll have his revenge.
P.s What will my new project be called? I have no fucking idea, and I don’t really care. I’ve never been one for caring about names. I may just be a lazy fuck and keep “The Rat Scavengers”, or I may think up something else, or I may just have someone else pick a name. Time will tell. If you’re reading this, feel free to think of one for me.
